On May 13th, at UNLV's vibrant campus in Las Vegas, this event promises to inspire and empower the next generation of innovators. Event Highlights include the Pitch Contest where Researchers will compete in a dynamic pitch contest, presenting innovative ideas to advance brain health. We are proud to support this exciting competition by providing funds for the winners to engage in pilot projects as part of our ASCEND2.0 initiative. We are delighted to spotlight one of our portfolio companies, T Neuro Pharma, during a 30-minute presentation by CEO Kristina Trujillo. Kristina will share the inspiring journey of T Neuro from concept to successful business, highlighting her experiences as a female startup founder and the challenges she overcame along the way. John Chavez, our managing director for the New Mexico Start-Up Factory and lead PI for the ASCEND2.0 NIH-funded grant program, will give a 20-minute presentation about ASCEND2.0. Discover how this program drives innovation and supports research in areas like brain health.  

This quarterly, evening event will provide Nevada entrepreneurs a forum to amplify their stories and perfect their pitch in a fun, interactive social environment. Three selected founders will have six minutes to present their business and receive feedback from a panel of experts. Elevate Reno is open to any Nevada entrepreneurs and companies who wish to pitch. In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, the Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business will host the fourth International Women’s Entrepreneurship Symposium (IWES). The symposium will be held in person this year, following a one-year hiatus in 2022 and an online event in 2021.

This special collaborative event will highlight research and tech opportunities, startup companies, and economic development resources in NM. Representatives and researchers will be in attendance from seven major research institutions in New Mexico, including the University of New Mexico, the Air Force Research Lab, Los Alamos National Lab, Sandia National Labs, NASA–White Sands Test Facility, New Mexico Tech and New Mexico State University.
